How lucky you are to expect the arrival of a baby soon! Preparing the nursery for the safety and comfort of your new baby can be a lot of work, and, ideally, it should be completed before the day you bring him/her home. Your baby gives you nine months to get ready so don’t worry. One of the most important things to get for your baby is a bed.
Cribs, and to a lesser extent, bassinets are important to have your your baby, you absolutely can’t forget about getting crib bedding. It’s a bad idea to place your baby directly onto a cold, hard mattress made of plastic. It is likely your baby won’t think this is comfortable, which means no sleep for either of you! Make sure you have enough bedding baby bedding before you bring your baby home (with at least two nice sets, you can have one on the bed and the other in the laundry). Bring yourself some cheer and better sleep for baby by choosing bedding in bright colors.
Are you ready to transform a boring, standard nursery into a serene, warm harbor by tossing out the plastic mattress and dull, slatted bed and bringing in a plush yet secure baby bed? At least you would need cotton crib sheets for that plastic mattress. Baby bedding sets that are made completely of cotton will not only be durable, but they will be soft on your baby’s skin, as long as you use mild detergent.
You should consider buying bumper pads for your baby’s crib, so that your child will not bruise when he or she hits the solid wood. Either a quilt or a light blanket, varying with if it’s the summer or the winter, and how warm or cool you like to keep your home, can also look great with your baby bedding. Add a crib skirt for a decorative touch. Although not essential, you can make your baby’s room more cheery and inviting by selecting a fun crib skirt.
If you have everything ready for the day your new addition comes home from the hospital, that will make this huge transition easier for everybody.
